James McMahon is one of Canada’s Finest Wood Sculptors.

James has been traveling Canada, carving large wooden sculptures from Vancouver Island to Cape Breton Island since 1993.

His carvings are in collections in Japan, Germany, Denmark, Ireland, Great Britain, Holland,  Australia and the USA; as well as coast to coast in Canada.

He can carve anything  for your boat, business, home, garden, or your sweetheart, from your plans or his. Shipping is easily arranged, or

James can travel to your site to do his magic.

Carving wood comes primarily from trees that have been harvested due to storm damage,  old age, or have already been cut for various reasons. Some wood comes from non-millable stumps or scrap from log home builders.  Large tree stumps left in yards or towns are favored for on-site carving. Any wood is good wood as long as it is sound. James uses environmentally friendly wood finishes when possible and biodegradable chain lubricants in his saws.
